1) How do the Loyalty Points work?

Earn 1 point for  every £1 spent. Points are added to your account after your payment is received and will be available for your next shop.


Accumulated points qualify for the following discounts that can be redeemed against your purchase.

60 points = £3 discount

80 points = £4 discount
100 points= £5 discount

2) How do I claim my Loyalty Points Reward?

Please note that a minimum of 60 points is required to claim the discount shown, and a maximum of 200 points can be used per order (£10). Once you have accumulated 60 points you will have the option to claim your reward by clicking the 'My Loyalty Points icon' in the bottom left of your screen. 

Click on 'your rewards' to see what rewards you can claim. After selecting you'll receive a code to use at checkout. Please note that after logging out you may need to refresh your browser to get the Loyalty Points to sync with your login.

3)How should I store my Fresh Meat Products?

Fresh Meat is perishable. As a result please refrigerate immediately upon receipt and consume within 3 days.

Alternatively, these products can be frozen upon receipt and stored frozen for up to 3 months. Once defrosted please consume within 24 hours. 



4)Where is your Biltong and Drywors produced?

The Biltong, Drywors and Snapsticks are made in a purpose built facility within our shop.  This is made on a daily basis.

5) How long does the Biltong and Drywors Last?

If stored at room temperature these products will last approximately 2 weeks so long as the bag is kept open to allow the products to breathe. *If the products are kept in a closed bag the moisture will cause the products to spoil far more quickly.*

If these products are stored in the refrigerator  they must  be stored with the bag open to allow the product to breathe. *Please note that the excess moisture in the refrigerator will shorten the shelf life to under 2 weeks with bag open. Storing these products with the bag closed will cause the products to spoil far more quickly.*


These products can also be stored in the freezer for approximately 3 months. 


Upon receipt open the product within 24 hours, and store with the bag open, and consume within 10 days. Moisture trapped in the bag will produce conditions for spoilage.

6) Is Biltong and Drywors gluten free?

These products are not gluten free.

7) What payment methods are available?

All payments via online orders are taken through Paypal and Square.  You can either use your Paypal account and log in at checkout, or if you don't have a Paypal account, Paypal gives you an option to use your debit/credit card. 


You can also use the 'Checkout' button to proceed to debit/credit card payments option with Square which does not require an account.

Alternatively, if you call us to make a phone order we can take a telephone payment via our commercial card service. We do not retain any of your card details in keeping with the Data Protection Act.

9) What are Delivery Costs?

The Standard Delivery Fees on all transactions are;

  • £6.99 on orders under £50,

  • £4.99 on orders under £100, and

  • Free on orders over £100.

10) How long will it take to have my 0rder delivered?

For Standard Delivery please allow 3-5 working days for delivery.  *Depending on your specification on Biltong, Drywors or Snapsticks, please allow for 5 days as the products may require extra drying time.*


For orders containing Fresh Meat Products the delivery service will be 24-48 hours from the time they pick the order up from us. Please note that orders received after 11am on a Friday are processed the following Tuesday when we open for business. 


Saturday Delivery


Orders processed on Fridays (generally all orders received between noon on a Thursday and 11am on a Friday) containing Fresh Meat are sent on a Saturday delivery service. Please note that DHL does not guarantee that all Saturday deliveries will meet the Saturday indication. As a result there is a risk that undelivered parcels will be delivered at the next delivery point, a Monday.

Please be advised that ordering for Saturday delivery is at your own risk. The Bok and Rose will not replace or refund on Saturday orders that are delivered on a Monday. Should you not wish to accept Meat on a Monday please hold off on ordering, or send us an email to hold the order for the following week.


Thermal Packaging

We use purpose built Thermal Packaging and Ice Packs  to keep the products as fresh as possible for as long as possible. Please note that  the Thermal Bags are designed to maintain a temperature of between 5 and 8 degrees centigrade, which means the Ice Packs will melt prior to arrival. This is expected. 

11) What is your Refund Policy?

If you are not happy with the product on receipt, please return it unopened/as sent and we will refund the order so long as you have not violated our published guidance on storage and handling.  Returns to be paid by the buyer.
